Vols' Barnes: 'No legs' to Texas academic misconduct report

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee coach Rick Barnes says he doesn't have reason to be concerned about a Texas investigation into allegations of academic misconduct in its men's basketball program.

Texas hired an outside investigator following a Chronicle of Higher Education report that mentioned potential allegations involving three former men's basketball players dating back to 2006. Barnes had coached Texas the last 17 seasons before getting fired in March.

Son of Danny Ainge to play basketball at Utah State

LOGAN, Utah (AP) — The son of Boston Celtics executive and former BYU star Danny Ainge has committed to play at Utah State.

Coach Tim Duryea said Tuesday that Utah State has signed Crew Ainge to its 2015-16 basketball class.

The 5-foot-11 Ainge played point guard at Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire. He will not play this season due to an LDS Church mission, but is scheduled to return for the 2017-18 season. Ainge is planning to go through the Utah State summer program with the team before leaving for his mission in August.
