MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — David "Aki" Collins has been named an assistant basketball coach at Memphis.

Collins spent the past four seasons at Marquette. He also has coached at Fairfield, Marshall, Howard and Colorado.

Collins fills a spot left by the departure of Jack Murphy, now head coach at Northern Arizona.

Tigers' coach Josh Pastner said Collins also will be a head coach in the future.
