STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma State freshman Marcus Smart is one of 12 players named to the watch list for the 2013 Wayman Tisdale Award.

The award is named after the Oklahoma native, University of Oklahoma All-American, Olympic gold medalist and 12-year NBA veteran Wayman Tisdale. It's presented to the top freshman in college basketball.

The winner is chosen by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association and the award will be presented April 15 during a ceremony at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
