SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Stephon Carter scored 16 points, Adam Young added 14 and CS Bakersfield rolled to a 61-52 victory over struggling UTSA on Tuesday night. Carter and Young grabbed six rebounds apiece for Bakersfield (10-15), and Tyrone White chipped in 12 points. Bakersfield was 19 of 21 from the free-throw line. Michael Hale III scored 18 points to lead UTSA (5-19), which lost its sixth straight game. Western Athletic Conference scoring leader Kannon Burrage added 10 points. UTSA shot just 33 percent from the floor. In a matchup of two schools whose mascots are the Roadrunners, CS Bakersfield never trailed, but UTSA tied the game at 30 on Jeromie Hill's free throw with 14:15 to play. Bakersfield would pull away, though, and lead by as many as 13 late in the game. CS Bakersfield also won its only previous meeting with UTSA, 85-52 in December 2012.
