BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Trustees have approved contracts for University of Alabama at Birmingham football coach Garrick McGee, men's basketball coach Jerod Haase and athletic director Brian Mackin.

The University of Alabama system trustees compensation committee approved the deals in a conference call Wednesday.

McGee will make $550,000 in base salary under his five-year contract, compared to $360,000 for predecessor Neil Callaway. Haase is making $475,000 for five years, compared to Mike Davis' $625,000 salary.

Both are entering their first seasons with the Blazers.

Mackin has been athletic director since 2007. He receives a four-year, $300,000 deal with incentives for academic achievement and football and men's basketball postseason play.

He was making $246,000, which UAB President Carol Garrison says "would put him at the very bottom of Conference USA."
