They call it “Catlanta” when Kentucky basketball comes to town.

It’s a relatively easy drive down I-75 from Lexington to Atlanta. When the Wildcats are playing postseason basketball in Georgia, the road is paved with blue.

Indiana had a nice turnout in the Georgia Dome for Friday night’s NCAA South Regional semifinal, but it was nothing like the Kentucky blue that dominated the crowd of 24,731.

“It was very crazy,” said Kentucky’s Anthony Davis on Saturday. “I looked to the right and I saw a little section of Indiana. I turned around, and it was like all blue everywhere else. I don’t know how they do it, but they find a way to get to every game and sell the house out.”

Kentucky is expected to again have the big advantage in the stands in Sunday’s regional final against Baylor.

Kentucky is 11-2 in the Georgia Dome since the 1999 Southeastern Conference tournament. The Wildcats are 67-29 all-time in Atlanta.
