ST. LOUIS (AP) — Khalif Wyatt scored 22 points Wednesday night and Temple held on to beat Saint Louis 72-67.
Ramone Moore had 18 points and Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson scored 12 for the Owls (11-4, 1-1 Atlantic 10), who shot 57 percent from the field. Temple led 32-30 at halftime after Moore's basket with 36 seconds left in the half, and held the lead throughout the second half although the Owls never led by more than nine points.
Saint Louis (13-4, 1-2) twice got within a point, the last at 62-61 with 2:14 to play. But Aaron Brown's three-point play and Hollis-Jefferson's dunk put Temple back in control.
Kwamain Mitchell led the Billikens with 16 points — 13 of them in the second half. Dwayne Evans had 14 points and Brian Conklin and Jordair Jett scored 12 apiece for Saint Louis.
