LAS VEGAS (AP) — The UNLV men's basketball team dropped two spots to No. 14 in Associated Press rankings after losing at San Diego State on Saturday.
The Las Vegas Sun reports (http://bit.ly/xOkrSv ) that in the coaches' poll, the Rebels (16-3, 0-1 MWC) fell from No. 12 last week to No. 20. That's four spots behind San Diego State, at No. 16.
San Diego State (15-2, 1-0), is riding an eight-game winning streak. The Aztecs are also No. 16 in the AP poll.
Undefeated Syracuse is still ranked No. 1 in both polls.
UNLV plays a home game Wednesday at the Thomas & Mack Center against TCU (10-6, 0-1).
On Saturday, the Rebels host New Mexico (15-2, 1-0) in a highly anticipated Mountain West Conference matchup.
New Mexico hosts San Diego State this week.
