NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Ryan Woods scored 19 points as New Jersey Institute of Technology defeated North Dakota 72-57 Saturday to split the season series. The Highlanders (11-13, 4-3 Great West Conference) led by 12 en route to a 33-24 halftime lead. The Fighting Sioux, who defeated NJIT 80-63 on Jan. 26, closed the gap to six points on three occasions, the last at 39-33 with 14:37 left, but could get no closer. The Highlanders made 18 of 22 free throws compared to only 8 of 15 for North Dakota (11-13, 3-4). Isaiah Wilkerson added 13 points and Lamar Kearse 12 for NJIT. The Fighting Sioux, coming off their first road win of the season at Chicago State, are now 1-12 on the road and 10-1 at home. Aaron Anderson had 14 points and Troy Huff 12 for North Dakota while Brandon Brekke had his fourth double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
