Colin Fly has been the AP Sports Writer in Kentucky since November 2011, covering the Bluegrass' soon-to-be seven Division I basketball teams, as well as auto and horse racing. He previously worked in Milwaukee for six years assisting in coverage of Wisconsin's three pro and four Division I college teams. He reported on everything from the MLB’s Milwaukee Brewers winning their first division title in 29 years to the state’s sturgeon spearing season, a sport that he surmised basically involves telling fish tales while drinking cold beer in a colder ice shanty. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State, he began his career in Nashville, Tenn.
