National Writer Eddie Pells has won the Grimsley Award for overall body of work and been named AP Sports Writer of the year twice. He covered SEC football and basketball for eight years, has covered 12 Final Fours, the Rose, Orange and Fiesta Bowls and the BCS championship game, nine Super Bowls, six Olympics and numerous U.S. Open golf and tennis tournaments. A native of Denver, Pells graduated from Colorado College in 1991 and started with AP in 1993 in Albuquerque, N.M.
