Paul Newberry has been with The Associated Press since 1984 and became a full-time sports writer in 1995. He has covered a wide-range of events over his career, including the Super Bowl, World Series, Final Four, BCS championship game and Stanley Cup, as well as all four of golf’s major championships plus the Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500. He is a longtime member of AP’s team for both Summer and Winter Olympics, most notably reporting on Michael Phelps' record eight golf medals in Beijing.
