The ACC could do with a little less madness this March.

The conference that sent nine teams to the NCAA Tournament has exactly one left after the opening two rounds, and North Carolina needed a rally to close out Arkansas on Sunday night.

Two other big teams from the conference went down on Sunday: No. 2 seeds Duke and Louisville. That boosted the Big Ten and Southeastern Conference as they now have an unexpected three teams in the Sweet 16. The Pac-12 and Big 12 also have three teams each in the regional semifinals.

There are seven of 32 conferences left in the tournament, broken down thusly:

CONFERENCE TEAMS IN W L WIN PCT TEAMS LEFT
Pac-12 4 8 1 88.9% 3
SEC 5 7 2 77.8% 3
Big 12 6 8 3 72.7% 3
Big Ten 7 8 4 66.7% 3
Big East 7 5 5 50.0% 2
West Coast 2 3 1 75.0% 1
ACC 9 7 8 46.7% 1
