Delany: 'Not shocked' by FBI investigation of college hoops

NEW YORK (AP) — Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany says he wasn't shocked by the FBI investigation into college basketball because of the history of federal law enforcement intersecting with the sport.

At Big Ten media day on Thursday at Madison Square Garden, Delany said the conference has had no contact with the FBI about the investigation.

"We really don't have any facts other than what we've read," Delany said.

Michigan adds Nwachukwu to basketball staff

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan has hired Chinedu Nwachukwu as director of program personnel for the men's basketball team.

The Wolverines announced the move Tuesday.

Nwachukwu received a degree in economics from Michigan in 2010 and spent three years as a student manager under coach John Beilein.

He rejoins Beilein after spending last season as director of operations at Milwaukee. Before going to Milwaukee, he spent four seasons at Saginaw Valley State University as an assistant coach.
