MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) — Morehead State University says Sean Woods has been named as its new head basketball coach. The university said in a news release late Friday that the charter member of the UK Athletics Hall of Fame formally will be introduced during a news conference on Monday. MSU president Dr. Wayne D. Andrews said in the statement that Woods' experience, character and integrity will help the school continue the momentum that its basketball program generated in recent years. The school says Woods previously coached at Mississippi Valley State University. He was recognized as the conference Coach of the Year in 2011-12, when the Delta Devils won the conference's tournament and went to the NCAA tournament for the fifth time in school history. Woods played in 91 games for the Wildcats from 1989-92.
