MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Trey Zeigler scored 22 points and Austin McBroom and Derek Jackson scored 14 apiece to lift Central Michigan to a 76-70 win over Western Michigan Friday night. The Chippewas (10-20, 5-11 Mid-American) scored 12 straight points during a 5-minute stretch late in the second half to grab a 72-67 lead. Oliver Mgaiboto's basket put Central Michigan ahead 69-67 with 2:29 left, and his 3-pointer capped the 12-point run with 1:48 to go. Those were his only points of the game. Flenard Whitfield led the Broncos (12-19, 6-10) with 15 points. Matt Stainbrook had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Nate Hutcheson and Demetrius Ward each scored 10 points for Western Michigan. The Broncos jumped to a 9-0 lead but the Chippewas only trailed 36-33 at halftime.
