HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Jeremy Campbell scored a team-high 14 points as Southeastern Louisiana rallied from a 10-point deficit and defeated Northwestern State 66-61 Saturday night. Elgin Bailey scored 12, including a key three-point play with 1:12 left, as Southeastern Louisiana (9-14, 3-8 Southland Conference) snapped a three-game losing streak. Northwestern State shot 46.1 percent (12 of 26) in the first half but was held to just 27.2 percent (9 of 33), including 2 of 16 from deep, in the second half. There were four ties and seven lead changes in the second half with the Lions taking the lead for good, 53-51, when Campbell drove the lane and scored on a layup. Northwestern State (14-11, 7-4) got as close as 57-56, but Bailey scored the Lions' next five points, including his three-point play, to give the Lions a 62-57 lead. Louis Ellis led Northwestern State with a game-high 17 points.
