I admit, I’ve never had the urge to set anything on fire so perhaps I just don’t get it.

But the burning of couches, flipping of cars and other whatnot that went on Saturday night in Lexington, what was the point of that? Last time I checked, Kentucky won that game, so there was nothing for fans to be angry about. And the national title game isn’t until Monday night, so there was no reason for such unbridled revelry. (Yes, I know Kentucky beat its in-state rival, but that’s been happening on a pretty regular basis the last few years. Besides, if you’re setting fire to couches for a game you were SUPPOSED to win, what’s your plan for if the Wildcats beat Kansas for the title, burn down your house?)

You are Kentucky, not West Virginia. Act like you’ve been there before.

If Kentucky wins its eighth NCAA title then, yes, you’re allowed to crack open an adult beverage or two and party in the streets. But leave the impromptu bonfires to the Boy Scouts. As Terrence Jones so correctly pointed out when he was asked about the pyrotechnic geniuses, “I don’t want to go to that person’s house. They don’t have nowhere for me to sit."
