Mike Fitzpatrick has been an AP Sports Writer since 2002, primarily covering Major League Baseball. He has been a member of the Baseball Writers' Association of America since 2004 and has covered nine World Series, 11 league championship series and four All-Star games. In addition, he covered the final games at old Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium, Derek Jeter's 3,000th hit and Roger Clemens' 300th win. Mike joined The Associated Press in July 1997 after graduating with a degree in journalism from Boston University, where he played second base on the varsity baseball team. Before joining AP, Mike worked at New England Sports Network in Boston. He grew up in Queens, N.Y., and attended Hunter College High School in Manhattan. He currently lives in Floral Park, N.Y., with his wife, Kimberly.
