RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Senior power forward Derrick Williams has left the Richmond basketball team for what coach Chris Mooney described as "personal reasons."

The 6-foot-6, 270-pound Williams started 21 of 22 games this season, but has seen his playing time and productivity decline this year.

He was averaging 5.8 points and 3.7 rebounds this season after scoring more than 11 points per game the last two seasons.

Mooney says he wishes Williams luck in his future endeavors.

For his career, Williams played in 106 games and started 77. He averaged 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds.
