UMBC dominated the Bearcats in both meetings, winning by an average of 16 points per contest.

Jarius Lyles finished with 19 points and Joe Sherburne added 14 for the Retrievers (15-7, 6-3 America East). UMBC shot 56.1 percent from the field, hit 12 3s, and won the rebounding battle by nine (34-25).

Willie Rodriguez scored 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds for Binghamton (12-12, 3-6), which saw its three-game win streak snapped.

UMBC led by just two with five minutes left before halftime, but closed on a 16-6 stretch to take a 49-37 lead at the break. A Rodney Elliot 3-pointer with 13:57 to go extended the Retrievers lead beyond the 20-point mark, and Binghamton did not threaten the rest of the way.
