LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Nikola Maric and Markquis Nowell scored 17 points apiece and Arkansas-Little Rock edged Prairie View 71-66 for a season-opening win on Wednesday.
Ruot Monyyong added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Trojans, who went 17 of 18 from the foul line in the second half while the Panthers were 4 for 4. It was the 17th double-double for Monyyong. Nowell was just 3 of 17 from the floor but made all nine of his free throws. Maric was 6-of-9 shooting.
Faite Williams had 18 points for the Panthers and Jawaun Daniels added 14 points and seven rebounds.
