Another trip to the NCAA Tournament extended Wisconin's record run of postseason success.
Wisconsin has sent its football team to a bowl game and basketball team to the NCAA Tournament for 15 straight seasons. That's three seasons better than the next longest streak, which belonged to Texas.

"It's hard to win," athletic director Barry Alvarez said. "This is a very competitive business. You look at the schools in (the Big Ten) alone and around the country and they've all had dips for one reason or another. ... We've had consistency."

Alvarez used to coach the football team, which is now coached by Paul Chryst. Wisconsin beat Western Michigan in the Cotton Bowl in January.
The eighth-seeded basketball team faces Virginia Tech in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday night.
