Tim Dahlberg is a national sports columnist for The Associated Press. Prior to that he was a national writer and the AP's boxing writer, having written about boxing since 1980 and the Olympics since 1984. Dahlberg has covered 11 Olympics, more than 500 professional title fights, some 50 of golf's major championships and almost every major sporting event in the world. Dahlberg was the 2006 winner for sports column writing awarded by the Society of Professional Journalists/Sigma Delta Chi at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. He was also the 1999 winner of the Nat Fleischer award given annually by the Boxing Writers of America for boxing coverage, the winner of multiple APSE awards for feature writing and a four-time winner of the Will Grimsley award for best overall body of work by an AP sports writer.
