R.B. Fallstrom has been the AP sports writer in St. Louis for a quarter century and is responsible for the Cardinals, Rams, Blues, Missouri and Saint Louis University sports. He has covered four Cardinals World Series teams and the Rams through thick and mostly thin. At Missouri, he's followed the exploits of Stormin' Norm Stewart, Quin Snyder, Mike Anderson and now Frank Haith in the school's dogged pursuit of a first Final Four appearance. Prior to joining The Associated Press in 1987, Fallstrom covered Illinois college sports at the St. Louis Globe-Democrat following stops at the Birmingham Post-Herald, Grand Junction (Colo.) Daily Sentinel and Quincy (Ill.) Herald-Whig. An avid cycler, he even gets paid to work out, teaching two spinning classes per week at the local YMCA. He and his understanding and patient wife, Betsy, have been married for 30-plus years and have two sons and a daughter.
