EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Melvin Baker scored 19 points and John Baker had 13 points and 15 rebounds Thursday night to lead Austin Peay to an 80-67 win at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
Josh Terry added 14 points, four assists and four steals while Jerome Clyburn had 12 points and seven assists for the Governors (7-13, 4-3 Ohio Valley).
An early 10-0 run helped propel the Cougars to a 15-6 lead, but the Governors came back to lead 37-36 at the break. Austin Peay then dominated the paint in the second half, outscoring the Cougars 30-12, and the final score was its largest lead of the game.
Mark Yelovich scored 20 points, including his career 1,000th point, for Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (5-11, 3-4). Corey Wickware and Jerome Jones added 12 points and Kris Davis scored 11 for the Cougars.
