There was at least some good news for Kansas and Loyola-Chicago fans in San Antonio after their teams lost in Saturday's Final Four: plenty of good deals on team merchandise afterward.

It's part of a tradition for retailers, who frequently slash the price of souvenirs, pennants and apparel for the two teams that lose in the national semifinals to cut down on inventory. That comes as some stores added gear featuring Michigan and Villanova as the national finalists for Monday night's title game.

Still, the deals offered at least a few bemused reactions from window-shoppers walking by storefronts across from the Alamo -- with one person pointing out a team discount sign with a chuckle: "That's messed up."
